WHAT TO WEAR AND KEEPING WARM

Dogsledding and anything winter can be a big "NO" for many people. I'm here to tell you that, "you can have just as much fun in winter as you can in the summer time. as long as you are prepared for it and you're dressed right". With a lifetime of cold weather experience and a love for the cold let us help you make your experience more enjoyable. There are several little things you can do to help yourself out and here is a list. Remember a little prevention now can prevent big problems later.

1.  Hydrate - Drink water, stay hydrated. This will help your body function properly. You can have a drink out on the trail. Hot or Cold. Just no alcohol. Dogsledding can at times be very [physically demanding. We try to make it easy for you.

2. Stretch - Stretching does a lot of things for the body. It gets the blood moving. It can warm you up and get you ready for some physical action.

3. Dress Warm/dress for the weather - Dress in Layers. Your base layer should be some sort of clothing that wicks moisture away from your body. Don't wear tight fitting clothing or boots. Wear something a little heavier for your middle layer, like wool. Your outer layer should be something that can also block the wind.  Avoid clothes with cotton in them. Wear some long johns. Gloves, mittens and hats are all advised. Other things like sunglasses, sunscreen and some type of lip balm are important.

4. Move - When you come here dogsledding take part in the activity as much as you want. Just remember, the more you stand around the more apt you are to get cold.

Your Fitness Level

No one knows their body and mind better than you. If you are pregnant, physically unable to work or have some sort of significant medical problem you are disqualified from dogsledding. Physical ailments must be allowed to heal before you do this activity. If you have a bad back, a bum knee or anything of the sort; come dogsledding another time. Dogsledding can be dangerous at times. We want your trip to be safe and enjoyable.

AGE LIMIT

We invite people of all ages to partake in our dogsledding adventures. With that said we would like to keep children under 12 with an adult. Children 7, we need to talk. For the younger ones and the older ones we can go dogsledding. We just need to ensure what we are doing is safe. Please call with questions.
